Pond life - Insect life (2)

The larvae in the water have now produced several little turquoise blue Damselflies - small versions of Dragonflies - the other difference being that Damselflies rest with their wings closed but Dragonflies leave them open. There is also a pair of brilliant red dragonfly which I think is called a 'darter'. There are at least two huge blue Emperor Dragonflies but they zoom around all the time and so far I have not managed to get a photo. Masses of Water boatmen on the surface who are doing a really efficient job of eating up all the mosquitoes. I have also seen a flash of bright green under the water as some small amphibian has been rushing to hide under the rocks - a small frog perhaps?
