Boring but important - Rosemary

When people round here talk about plants it is quite the norm to say 'Oh just the usual boring old stuff like rosemary'. Well I suppose you could say that a plant which flowers twice a year in any shade of blue, pink or white and grows at any height from ground cover to tall hedges must be boring. What's more it grows almost anywhere in this district and that has to be a major plus point. I have seen some magnificent examples - rosemary 'dripping' over a long wall next to a swimming pool in Tuoro, rosemary clipped into a tall piramid at Venzano, rosemary in place of box as hedges in a knot garden in Perugia...Boring?
