Pond life - hibernation

When the diggers left off for the Xmas and New Year holidays the pond was looking like an archaeological dig. Weird trenches are waiting for the reinforced concrete retaining wall to stop the water from pouring away down the hill. All a bit of a let down after the frenzy of activity. The other day a truck came and dropped off a heap of steelwork but nothing else is happening.
