September - almost autumn

Autumn is arriving and much too fast. We picked our grapes yesterday because the weather forecast for the coming weeks is terrible - rain and chilly, not what we want in September at all. I am off on a business trip now for a couple of weeks so here are a few photos of the flowers that are bringing so much colour into the garden at the moment but I don't expectthem to be here when I return. Thank goodness for Sternbergia ...

I love the flowers in late summer/early fall as they are like the last floral hurrah before the gray and the cold arrive.

Yes it is cold this week, but I'm not sure we'll get the rain we've been promised. It may be warmer when you return from your trip. The autumn flowers do at least last for a while. Chrisitna
