The landscaping work has taken ages - no idea why. But now at least we have a series of 'pretend' dry stone walls and terraces leading up the hillside beyond the pond. Now it needs the final earth moving, hole digging and so on such that I can start planting. The roses have arrived from Peter beales and bulbs from Bakker so we really need to get on with it. Last week the weather was dry but nothing happened. This week there has been a continual deluge - and the digger driver says he can't do anything as it is a sea of mud. Indeed it is. But there is cold weather on its way and if we want to move olive trees and plant mediterranean shrubs and bulbs then it is almost too late. What a drag.
