Despite all my efforts to protect my newly planted bulbs from the scavenging paws of the porcupine, I went out into the garden today only to find that they had dug up all my crocus and some alliums from a plot where I had left moth balls sprinkled about. Maybe the moth balls having 'lavender flavour' had weakened their effect? Seems that either there has to be a physical barrier or a light. SO FAR the solar lamps seem to have been a deterrent... let's see.
