Lawns


Don't have one.
They are a shocking waste of water, take too much time & effort and in the end will never look really nice. And that's assuming that the local commune lets you use a hosepipe in summer.
One expat in the area has a timer-control on his sprinkler system that waters his lawn automatically during the night. It came as a terrible shock to people renting his house when they were having a romatic evening outdoors watching the stars...

If they were British they would just put it down to "normal UK weather" surely! And forget that they'd crossed "La Manche" and "Les Alpes"
